northeastern part of the country this morning. a 7.3 magnitude earthquake struck in the pacific ocean are around 518 local time. that is around midnight here in san francisco. the usgs says the earthquake struck about 200 mi. off the coast of japan. the epicenter was about 6 mi. beneath the seabed. >> and here is video from youtube when the earthquake hit in japan. buildings and tokyo swayed for several minutes. a 6.2 aftershock struck after the close after the initial quake. >> a men is in critical

condition this morning after he fell from the upper deck of oakland coliseum at last night's raiders game. kron 4 urs will tran joins us live from the coliseum. we'll? >> this rail is pretty much typical or around the coliseum and it goes as high as your chest level. there is nothing that could a prevented him from falling more. there stating that he possibly jumps. unless they talk to him and hopefully pulls through this as well as the witnesses. they're going with the fact that he just felt. they're looking at the fact that maybe at all was in his system when this happened. they're conducting blood test to see if this played a role. the raiders stated that they are leaving this up to investigators. they stated

that the oakland police department and the sheriffs are handling this investigation. the raiders are stain that their thoughts are with the family. >> at this point there are a lot of questions out there. >> we're watching wall street and there is a rise for the dow we had the jobs report, for the month of november. it was a bit of a surprise. the u.s. added 146,000 jobs last month. this drops the unemployment rate to 7.7%. if this is the lowest since december 2008. we will see how this news impacts the market is when they open and about 50 minutes, but some positive news on the jobs front. >> a month after his

controversial proposition 8. if the court refuses to review the prop. 8 case same-sex marriage would be legal in california and same-sex couples could marry as soon as next week. >> san jose firefighters are investigating three alarm fire that ripped through a restaurant. the fire broke out last night around 930 at the pasta pomodoro on san felipe road. authorities say that the restaurant was opened for business at the time of the fire. hit it was under control within 1/2 hour. >> a hit-and-run accident in san jose has left one person dead. residue from police

flares, mark the spot where it all happen wednesday evening on the busy white road in san jose. witnesses told police, and pedestrian was struck and killed, as e.j. what southbound, near the vietnamese community center. there has been other accidents in this area but this is the first pedestrian fatality in recent memory. >> police in foster city are bison residence to secure their vehicles after nine separate auto burglaries were reported this week. the ninth car break-in was reported wednesday. most of these break-ins happened along shale boulevard and emerald bay lane. officers say that burglar prevailed on unlocking vehicles or broke windows to gain entry. items like purses, electronics, gps devices and other items that were left with in view were stolen. residents are reminded to keep all their valuable items out of view. and to

announcement comes in response to recent outcry in the u.k. that multi national companies are skirting taxes by shifting profits overseas divisions. the managing director of starbucks u.k. says that they have always paid their taxes to the letter of the law. but will make additional payments in 2013 and 2014 despite the fact that the u.k. unit is not yet profitable.

>> local reservoirs' have seen a much needed increase in water levels since the last weekend storms. reserves and santa clara improve significantly with the right fog, but levels are still not exactly where they need to be. since last wednesday, the santa clara valley water district says that the average stores in their reservoirs' increased from 74 to 91 percent of where they should normally be. east bay mud says all there reservoirs' are now at 85 percent capacity. as far as water supply--they are in good shape. to many more storms, they will have to release some water into creeks to maintain the levels. >> this is a live look from the roof cam and there is a beautiful start to the morning. we are just dealing with cloudy conditions right

around the bay area with the exception to the bay bridge toll plaza. we are jammed from all of the approaches and there are a lot of delays. we are between five to eight minutes. the metering lights are activated. we still continue to see problems for the upper deck. for those few who are lucky enough to use the san mateo bridge they have no incidents to report. southbound 1 01 is no issues and the visibility is dance. ense. visibility will improved as a major rate closer to san francisco. >> the traffic map shows a accident on the mimic the freeway. this is a around

literalness. they talk to witnesses and they cannot say for certain. they're not releasing his name at this point of the police of our men believe they know what happened. they're going with eiffel accidently. their report reports that he may have jumped but we're talking to people out here and they believe this was purely accidental. >> they will also want to talk to people that were around there and see if there's any kind of fight. was there? >> no there was not. no arguments, no suicide attempts. as far as their investigation is concerned it is all but wrapped up at this point. they believe it was purely accidental. you asked me earlier about the guard rail and it is pretty much the same height of around the coliseum. it is at chest level. he fell and it is purely a medical situation. it is not a
